Ribbons
I love ribbon. I save it from wrapped presents, pick up a yard or two at the scrapbook store, and clip it off of store bags. But where, oh, where do you store those loose yards of beautiful ribbon? I've found that if I put things out of sight I forget to use it. And I love the little memories that they trigger. See the detail pink leafy vine? I picked that up at a wonderful little shop called Grace and Company Paperie on Bainbridge Island west of Seattle. Great memories of spending time visiting with my husband's family.
So here's my solution. I found this darling antique at a consignment shop called Now and Then in Overland Park, KS and fell in love with it. The shop is across the street from a quilt shop I was visiting during a shop hop. I managed to talk myself out of getting it but couldn't stop thinking about it. A month later I made a trip back knowing it would be gone but I was so lucky to find it still hanging in the back of the shop. So I've put a color group on each clip and can clearly see what's available to put on a scrapbook page or around a package. I still have some unopened ribbon on cards in a drawer and little scraps in a jar but I'm enjoying seeing this practical but pretty organizational solution on the wall.

How did I not know that you were blogging?!! I'm SO excited to see your work and now I can keep up with what's going on a bit more with you - since we can't seem to catch up during the other times we see eachother.
You do some beautiful work! And I love the splat mat! So cute and practical. I've never seen a ribbon holder like that either -- I'm going to have to have you tell me about that place...Have a great weekend!
