I've been meaning to share this block for a while now. It's the Birdie Stitches BOM for January. I actually finished it in January but now I need to catch up February's block.
The embroidery goes together pretty fast. I'm not sure what I think of the stabilizer. I chose to use it because I don't want any threads from the back to show through the front but I don't like the wrinkly look it gives. I hope it will look better after it's washed.
I love this little bird! Especially the ear muffs.

this is adorable!
I think you did a gorgeous job! I didn't use stabilizer when I did mine. It didn't wrinkle, but I am nervous about seeing all the thread from the front. I think that gives it more of a hand-stitched quality though.
Can't wait to see more of your blocks!
What kind of stabilizer did you use? I have never used any with my hand embroidery, but think I want to try with my next project. Barb C
This is very cute! I opted for no stabilizer on mine. I think (hope!) my white fabric is thick enough so the back threads shouldn't show through.
BarbC,
I can't remember the name of my stabilizer but it looks like a loosely woven muslin with a rough fusible side. You might try a sample block to decide if you like it.
Will you show me how to do this!?
